Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 July 2026

1. Who we are

Sortie Labs("we", "us") is a studio that sells digital developer products — starter kits and code templates. These Terms govern your use of this website (sortielabs.com) and the products we sell. By using the site or buying a product, you agree to these Terms.

2. Payments & the seller of record

Our products are sold and delivered through Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record for each purchase. Gumroad handles payment processing, invoicing, and any applicable sales tax or VAT. Your purchase is also subject to Gumroad's own terms and privacy policy.

3. Licence to use our products

When you buy a Sortie product you receive a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use the code to build software for yourself or your clients, across unlimited projects. You may modify it freely. You may not resell, redistribute, or republish the product itself — in whole or substantial part — as a competing starter, template, or boilerplate. Free products are licensed under the terms stated in their repository (e.g. MIT).

4. Refunds

If a product doesn't work as described, contact us via Gumroad within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Because products are delivered digitally, refunds outside that window are at our discretion.

5. Intellectual property

We retain all intellectual property rights in our products and this site, except for the licence expressly granted to you above. Third-party open-source components remain under their own licences, which ship with the product.

6. No warranty

Our products are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing, testing, and securing any code before using it in production. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you may have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sortie Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our products or this site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant product.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
