Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

Sortie Labsrespects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it. In short: we keep data collection to a minimum and we never sell it.

What we collect

  • Anonymous analytics (only with your consent). We use privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics (Vercel Analytics plus our own aggregate view counter) to understand which pages are useful. It does not identify you and sets no cookies — and it stays off until you accept it in the consent banner.
  • Emails you send us. If you email us or use a "get notified" link, we keep your message and address so we can reply or tell you when a product ships.
  • Purchase data. When you buy a product, the checkout is handled by Gumroad. They collect and process your payment and contact details as merchant of record — we only ever see the order information Gumroad shares with sellers (such as your email and what you bought). We never see your card details.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your data, we don't run advertising trackers, and we don't set marketing cookies. We only use what we collect to run the site, deliver products, and reply to you.

Third parties

We rely on a small number of processors to operate: Vercel (hosting & analytics), Gumroad (payments & delivery), and our email provider. Each handles your data under its own privacy policy.

Cookies & consent

We don't set advertising or tracking cookies. The only non-essential processing is our cookie-less analytics, and it does not run until you accept it. When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept all, Reject non-essential, or choose per category. You can change your choice any time via Cookie preferences in the footer. Necessary functionality (serving and securing the site) is always on and involves no tracking.

Your rights & where you are

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to correct or delete it — email hello@sortielabs.com and we'll action it. For purchase data you can also contact Gumroad directly.

  • Australia. We handle personal information consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If we can't resolve a concern, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
  • UK / EU / EEA. Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, you also have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and can complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO at ico.org.uk).
  • Rest of world. We extend the same access and deletion rights to everyone, regardless of location.

Our processors (Vercel, Gumroad, our email provider) may store or process data outside your country, including in the US; they do so under their own safeguards and privacy terms.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
